Vince Evans - Manager

I have been coaching Travel Softball now for 12 years, splitting 6 years with each daughter. I coached my oldest with the Schaumburg Sluggers and the Roselle Rockers. My last three years have been dedicated to the Elk Grove Heat. My background includes playing high school baseball at Gordon Teach and college baseball for Illinois Benedictine (D3), Morton Junior College (JC), and Armstrong Atlantic (D2). During my college career I played multiple positions including my primary position of catcher. During my sophomore campaign for Morton Junior College I finished fifth in the nation in Division 1 junior college. My goal is to have each girl that plays for the Elk Grove Heat not only achieve success on the field but off as well.

Sarah Bailitz - Coach

Currently I attend Division I University of Dayton and Pitcher is my primary position. I am a 4 Time First Team All-Area, All Conference selection at John Hersey School where I was a Pitcher, 1st Baseman, and Power Hitter. In my senior campaign, I helped our team to our 1st Sectional Title in program history and was also named to the 2019 All State 1st Team roster. Within Travel Ball, I have played for numerous organizations. My travel teams have earned PGF Premier and Platinum Bids and have completed at PGF Nationals multiple times. I have been playing travel softball since I was 9 years old and do private pitching lessons in the Northwest Suburbs.

Jeff Olson - Coach

I am now entering my 18th year of coaching girls softball, with this being my second involved with the Elk Grove Heat. I have served on the Elk Grove softball board for 10 years, working in conjunction with the EGV park district to run a highly respected program. During which time I held the positions of commissioner, member at large, and officiating. Also had the opportunity to build an end of the year tournament team- the Elk Grove Fire, which I managed for seven successful years winning multiple tournaments. I am currently looking forward to the 2020 season, to build the foundation to hopefully help take the girls into their high school years and beyond.

Tony Portogallo - Coach

I am entering my second year as a coach of the Elk Grove Heat.  I have three daughters and have been coaching softball for over 15 years. Tony is a passionate coach leading by his actions.  He uses his work and volunteering experience in the healthcare field to interact with the girls to become the best that they can be.  His goal is to ensure that the girls learn to be successful on the field, but more importantly learn the lessons to be successful in school and in life.
